HR Pursuit

Phase 1 of 3 · Legal Hygiene

Required employment posters

Federal and Texas notices that covered employers must post where employees can actually read them, covering wages, discrimination, safety, and related rights.

If the people who work here cannot read it, it is not posted.

In plain English

Some notices have to hang where people work, not in a binder the owner meant to print.

What it looks like in business
A consultant walks the floor, finds last year's federal set behind the office door, and replaces it with the current federal and Texas set in the break area.
Why it matters
Missing or outdated notices are an easy citation, and they are also how employees never learn the complaint path you claim to offer.

Reading it once is not the same as knowing it. Put this term in the daily rotation and let the quiz come back for it.

Where this comes from

U.S. Department of Labor workplace poster requirements

This is HR guidance, not legal advice, and rules change. Check the current text and your own facts before you act on it. When a situation needs a lawyer, Jennifer will say so.

A gray steel filing drawer stands half open under a warm desk lamp, blank folder tabs in a neat row and one folder lifted just above the rest, DFW.

Where it sits

Phase 1: Legal Hygiene

Stay legal without becoming a lawyer: the Texas and federal rules that still apply when the owner is the HR department.

Knowing the term is the easy half.

Knowing whether it applies to your eight people, on your payroll, this week, is the part owners call about.
