About

Jennifer Row is the HR department you did not have to hire.

Jennifer holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and is a SHRM Certified Professional. She contracts with small businesses across Dallas-Fort Worth and the surrounding counties that have plenty of people problems and exactly zero people departments.

Most of her clients run shops with 5 to 50 employees. The owner does payroll on Friday, interviews on Monday, and reads about the FLSA at 11 p.m. on a Wednesday. Jennifer's job is to make the 11 p.m. part unnecessary.

She does not sell software, and she is not a lawyer. She builds the baseline a small shop can actually run: the short handbook, the classification review, the offer letter that matches the paycheck, the complaint path that does not run through the accused person's desk. When something genuinely needs an attorney, she says so early and helps you brief one, which is a great deal cheaper than briefing one late.

Because she is local, posters get checked by walking the floor, investigations get a neutral face the team recognizes, and the "call us before you fire someone" line is answered by a person who knows your shop.

How she works

  1. 1

    Legal Hygiene

Stay legal without becoming a lawyer: the Texas and federal rules that still apply when the owner is the HR department.

  2. 2

    Hire, Land, Keep

A repeatable path from a vague vacancy to a person who is still good at day 90, with the live record checked before day one.

  3. 3

    Hard Conversations

A fair process for performance, complaints, accommodations, and exits so the owner is not both the boss and the only adult in the room.

Also fluent in

Texas public school staffing rules.

Charters and programs that hire educators get the certificate checked against the assignment, the renewal calendared, and the misconduct reporting deadlines identified before they are missed.
